Craftsman
We are looking for someone, with or without experience, with a good attitude who has interest in the construction industry. On site training is available. The Craftsman has an assortment of responsibilities at Star Homes building sites. Some responsibilities include, assisting Construction Supervisors in building decks, miscellaneous framing and roofing, installing siding, setting cabinets, installing interior trim, assisting in final punch list duties, cleaning structures and building sites, etc.
The Craftsman:
Is willing to learn and have the ability to communicate to coworkers, subcontractors and vendors.
Enjoys working on different projects daily/weekly in a team environment.
Is comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding and climbing heights while using proper safety equipment.
Is able to lift and work with heavy loads (up to 70 lbs) while walking around a building site.
Is able to use levels and hammers, can operate saws, power drills and other hand tools as well as learn to use bobcats, trenchers and other small construction equipment.
Is able to follow directions and complete tasks alone or as part of a team.
Has the ability to work outside in all seasons as well as in unheated or non-air-conditioned buildings.
Candidates that can communicate in both English and Spanish or have specialized skills or training will be highly considered.
Employment is contingent on a background check, a clean driving record and possession of a valid driver’s license.

Architecture Intern
Star Homes is seeking an ambitious architecture student with a passion for design and custom home building. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and deepen your knowledge of home planning and construction in the Fort Wayne area.
